Best Leave In Conditioners for 4C Natural Hair

Leave-in conditioners are an essential step in a good haircare regimen for healthy natural hair. They help keep hair soft and looking refreshed in between wash days. Leave-in conditioners help aid detangling, add shine and definition too. As a professional product junkie, I've had the chance to try out some lovely leave-ins. Read on for my favourites for my natural type 4 hair.

Mielle Organics Avocado Moisturising Hair Milk

First up is award-winning Mielle Organics Avocado Hair Milk, I discovered this beauty via TreasureTress and have been using it since. There is always a bottle in my collection. I love this leave-in conditioning hair milk because it never fails to leave my hair feeling moisturised and soft. The consistency isn’t too heavy, it’s packed with nourishing all natural ingredients like aloe vera juice, organic avocado oil, shea butter and botanical extracts such as nettle, sage and horsetail. I couldn’t recommend Mielle Organics Avocado Moisturising Hair Milk enough as a leave-in for natural 4c hair.

Palmer’s Natural Fusions Mallow Root Leave-In Conditioner

A new favourite of mine is Palmer’s Natural Fusions Leave-In. The texture of this leave-in is lightweight but it is very hydrating and has a beautiful floral fragrance. I love the handy spray bottle and the formula contains mallow root which has a slippery texture and helps hair retain moisture. It’s perfect for refreshing natural hair in between washdays too. The Coconut Oil and Olive Oil versions of this leave-in conditioner are also just as good!

Shea Moisture Raw Shea Extra-Moisture Detangler

This Shea Moisture Raw Shea Detangler is another staple in my collection and one of my favourites from the raw shea butter range. It has a slippery consistency, with a lovely blend of glycerin, marshmallow root and slippery elm in the formula. Shea Moisture Raw Shea Detangler is another essential if my hair is lacking moisture and it pairs well with other hair moisturisers and stylers and doesn’t usually flake when i’ve mixed it with them. Plus it helps lock in moisture for days!

Shea Moisture Strengthen and Restore Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-In Conditioner

Another shea moisture leave-in conditioner which is great for 4c hair is the Strengthen and Restore Jamaican Black Castor Oil leave-in. This leave-in is super rich and an essential for many naturals and the entire strengthen and restore range is great too. The fragrance is lovely and it works well with other products. I like the fact that this product comes in a tub and that a little goes a long way and that it softens and detangles hair well.

Camille Rose Coconut Water Leave-In Detangling Hair Treatment

I’ve shared a few reviews of camille rose products before (check out my previous camille rose naturals review and camille rose x treasuretress takeover box review) and this multi-purpose Camille rose Coconut Water Leave-In Detangling Hair Treatment works as a co-wash too. It’s another great leave-in with mallow root and has jelly-like consistency with a good slip and a beautiful coonutty fragrance.

As I am  Long & Luxe GroYoghurt Leave In Conditioner

This As I Am Long & Luxe Leave-In Conditioner is a real gem with a fruity scent. I first tried it after winning an As I Am hamper in a giveaway with Brown Beauty Talk. It works best for me on wet hair than dry hair as I found it absorbed better when applied to wet hair and helps prevent flaking of gels and smoothies. Check out my previous As I am Long Luxe review here for other gems in this line which helps support length retention.

Flora & Curl Organic Rose & Honey Leave In Detangler

Lastly, Flora & Curl Organic Rose & Honey Leave-In Detangler is a great one for natural 4c hair. It’s formulated with organic rose water, coconut oil, honey and oat. It has great slip and makes detangling super easy.

So there you have it some of the my favourite leave-in conditioners for natural 4c hair. I like using all of these leave-ins on my type 4 hair and alternate between them.
